Hillary & Obama – Party of the Rich

Democrats like to define themselves as the party of poor and middle-income Americans, but a new study says they now represent the majority of the nation’s wealthiest congressional districts.

In a state-by-state, district-by-district comparison of wealth concentrations based on Internal Revenue Service income data, Michael Franc, vice president of government relations at the Heritage Foundation, found that the majority of the nation’s wealthiest congressional jurisdictions were represented by Democrats.

  1. Just because they represent healthy districts doesn’t mean they’re not concerned about unhealthy districts. I like to think of America as a suffering patient, where Hillary is an experienced doctor. What we need here is some good medicine.

  2. Just like a liberal.  Keep the people down by convincing them they are sick, poor, down trodden . . .  Looks like I have another good example to illustrate the Liberal Philosophy.  Thanks.  Bad medicine, from a poor doctor for an ailment that doesn’t exist.

  3. Um, sorry, but…

The whole meme is based on a fallacy, as is being pointed out in many places. Greg Sargent has pointed out the absurdity of saying the Dems hold slightly more than 50% of ‘the 167 wealthiest districts’…when their OVERALL % of seats held is HIGHER.

But this should drive the point home even more:

Average out the districts (the mhi figure is for 2000, but the list of congresspeople is the current one).

Dem districts: on average, $2700 POORER than Republican ones.
